An unspecified illness forced Colin Cowherd to abruptly leave his Monday episode of The Herd on FS1 and Fox Sports Radio during the first segment. On the heels of arguably the biggest trade in NBA history, with the Dallas Mavericks sending Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers for a package including Anthony Davis, Cowherd was surely eager for his Monday monologue. However, he cut it short by announcing he wasn’t feeling well, leading the show to take a commercial break lasting more than seven minutes.

“Folks, I’m gonna take a break,” Cowherd announced while breaking down the Dončić-Davis trade. “I am getting very, very sick, very, very quickly on this set. And we will return.” The Herd came back after a lengthy commercial break, with co-host Jason McIntyre taking Cowherd’s chair. McIntyre informed the audience that Cowherd was resting in his dressing room and hopefully would be back for Tuesday’s show. The show’s social media account later provided an update, indicating that Cowherd was “doing OK.”
Colin is doing OK.
Thank you for your concerns. Colin is under the weather and Jason Mcintyre is filling in.

Credit Cowherd for attempting to power through the illness, as it was evident that the longtime sports radio host was struggling during the initial moments of his show. No one enjoys being sick, and it’s especially daunting when it happens live on camera. Cowherd was in the studio Monday after taking the previous Friday off to travel to Chicago. He recently announced plans to move The Herd to Chicago and Fox’s Big Ten Network studios, which involves splitting time with his existing setup in Los Angeles. With more travels ahead, including a broadcast from New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX later this week, we hope Cowherd recovers swiftly.
