NFL Takes Action Against Travis Kelce Ahead of Super Bowl

The Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of making history with their recent 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship, propelling them to the Super Bowl where they will face the Philadelphia Eagles. If victorious, the Chiefs will become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

However, while the AFC Championship was a remarkable achievement, not all of the Chiefs’ players came out unscathed. Star tight end Travis Kelce is now facing repercussions for his actions during the game. Following a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a scuffle broke out involving Kelce, who engaged in trash talk with Bills safeties Damar Hamlin and Cole Bishop. This escalated when Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips head-butted Kelce in the end zone.

Although Kelce was not penalized during the incident, the NFL has decided to take action against him for instigating extracurricular activities in such a highly scrutinized game. As a result, Kelce has been fined $11,255 for taunting, according to Pro Football Talk. It remains to be seen whether Kelce will adjust his behavior in time to avoid jeopardizing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
