WWE Inviting Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed to the Royal Rumble

The WWE is bringing two of the world’s biggest content creators, Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed, to Indianapolis this weekend for the Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium. Fresh off its debut on Netflix, the pro wrestling brand continues to seek out ways to engage younger fans online by tapping into these massive audiences.

On Monday, iShowSpeed received an invitation from Triple H himself during his YouTube stream, not only to attend the Royal Rumble premier live event but also to host an “IRL” (in real life) stream throughout the night. “You can have access backstage, you can access all the superstars, you can stream with them, you can stream backstage,” Triple H said, adding, “Hell, I’ll even let you come to Gorilla Position and sit with me, and you can stream up there if you want … if you can see them, you can stream them.”

As a massive sports fan who regularly integrates athletic competitions and sports video games into his content, Speed also has a partnership with the NFL and is closely associated with top athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James. It was no surprise that to finalize his deal with the WWE, Speed had to confirm he could meet John Cena.

Soon after, Twitch star Cenat announced he would also be making an appearance at the Royal Rumble. Cenat, who teased a potential future in the ring, made an appearance during Smackdown in Atlanta, where he resides.

Speed and Cenat have a competitive rivalry as the two most popular streamers in the country. While it’s too early to determine whether they will step into the Royal Rumble ring, it’s clear that WWE recognizes a unique opportunity to attract new audiences to pro wrestling at one of its biggest events of the year.
