The Kansas City Chiefs benefitted from several controversial calls during their AFC Championship Game victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. In particular, the fourth quarter saw the referees rule the Bills short of the line to gain on consecutive plays where it appeared they had secured a first down.

The Chiefs have also experienced their fair share of contentious calls throughout the playoffs. In the divisional round against the Houston Texans, they received two questionable penalties that extended their drives and ultimately culminated in touchdowns. These events have sparked considerable debate among fans and media, with many suggesting that the Chiefs consistently benefit from officiating during playoff games. However, head coach Andy Reid is reluctant to engage in that discussion.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, Reid was directly asked about his thoughts on officiating and whether the Chiefs have received advantages. In response, he expressed disinterest in the topic, stating, “Yeah, right. I try not to pay attention to any of that stuff.”
As the Chiefs prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, they aim for a remarkable third consecutive Super Bowl victory. We’ll have to wait and see the outcome of that matchup and if any controversial calls emerge, as they did in the previous games.
