This transfer significantly enhances Texas’s defensive lineup, as Kanu, who played in 14 games over the past two seasons for Ohio State, will bring his experience to the SEC contender. The rising senior from Germany was part of a talent-rich and experienced defensive line at Ohio State, which likely influenced his decision to seek a fresh opportunity for more impactful playing time.
Texas, under the leadership of head coach Steve Sarkisian, has proven itself as a formidable program, having made the College Football Playoff for the past two seasons, including a run in the newly-expanded CFP this year. They were also semifinalists in last year’s four-team playoff. Texas will be glad to welcome an Ohio State transfer as they continue to develop their competitive edge.
Interestingly, Ohio State will face Texas in Columbus during the opening game of the 2025 season, promising to be a festive occasion on the OSU campus.
