Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry lightened the mood with the media Tuesday night following a 71-68 victory over Georgia Tech by sharing a text from an unknown number that criticized his coaching. He revealed that he received the message during the game, stating, “I got this text at 10:15, so obviously the game was still going. Whoever sent this, I appreciate you, thank you for being cool. ‘WTF am I watching? Do you have any plays written up because holy s*** your team is unorganized as hell. ‘What are they paying you for?’”

Reporters in the press conference enjoyed Shrewsberry’s animated reading of the text, with him commenting, “I’m glad it didn’t have a name attached to it. But that right there, fellas, is a lesson in humility. As good as you feel, some people think you stink.”
With this win, Notre Dame improves to 10-10 this season, showing significant progress after enduring two consecutive 20-loss seasons. Shrewsberry, now in his second season as head coach of the Fighting Irish, has apparently made enough of an impression for someone who shouldn’t have access to his personal phone number to send an in-game text.
