Sunday’s Conference Championship Games on CBS and Fox featured two distinct halftime shows, and the outspoken radio host Chris Russo was not fond of either, particularly criticizing Fox’s halftime production. On Monday’s edition of Mad Dog Unleashed, Russo voiced his frustrations, declaring Fox’s halftime a “complete disaster.” “I’ll tell ya, these halftimes are a complete waste of time,” Russo stated in a video shared by Jimmy Traina on X. “If you’re watching, go do some pushups or something. These halftimes everywhere are an utter waste of time. Fox’s halftime is a joke; you can’t even watch it. It is a complete disaster.”

Russo is not alone in his criticism of the Fox studio this season. As the core cast ages, more scrutiny has fallen on Terry Bradshaw, who’s had several forgettable moments, such as forgetting that Rob Gronkowski was part of Fox NFL Sunday and stumbling through highlights multiple times. While some appreciate the continuity of the cast and see their familiarity as a positive, there are just as many who believe a significant change may be overdue.
It’s clear where Russo stands on this issue, and it seems he has complaints about halftime shows across all networks. Unfortunately for him, he’ll have to contend with the Fox studio team again this season, as Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will air on Fox. From the sound of it, Russo will likely find something else to do during the Fox Super Bowl halftime show.
