Adam “Pacman” Jones has embarked on an exciting second career in the media landscape since concluding his NFL journey in 2018. Notably, he has launched The Pacman Jones Show, a YouTube show and podcast co-hosted by Evan Rosenblum of TMZ fame. Since its debut in September, the show has gained significant traction, and Jones recently expressed to AA his ambitions to elevate it further. “I want to be the biggest talk show in the world,” he declared, a goal he is confident his talented team can achieve.
“I’ve got a great team. There are a couple of things we can enhance as a group. Our Pacman Jones Show started in September, and we’ve already garnered over 20 million impressions, so clearly we have something special,” he said. Jones believes his show stands out in the crowded sports media space and is eager to drive it to greater heights. “You know what’s different about our show? There are only three shows I really like that talk like barbershop talk,” he shared, choosing not to name them out of respect for their visibility.
“I think that during football season, we’re definitely number one. The other shows may have an edge in boxing and basketball due to their relationships, but I have numerous connections in the boxing community. I expect that by this time next year, we will be one of the biggest shows in the industry. …The Pacman Jones Show will be among the top shows in 2025.”
This foray into media is not Jones’s first; he was initially involved with I Am Athlete and has worked on projects like Runnin’ It Back w/ Pac + Zach (with Zachary McCall Hirsch) for BetOnline. His passion for this venture ignited when he asked Pat McAfee for an opportunity to appear on his show in 2023, which blossomed into a recurring segment. “I was close to being the savior of I Am Athlete before they ended, and when I reached out to Pat McAfee for support, he was enthusiastic about having me on his show,” Jones recounted.
From McAfee, Jones learned the art of extracting more from guests during interviews. “It was about how to ask the question in a way that prompts a different response,” he noted. Inspired by McAfee’s methods, Jones was encouraged to create his own show, representing his unique style, which he describes as “politely raw”—being honest without being hurtful.
“It’s about making bold statements, asking athletes and coaches what’s on their minds. Unlike many shows that shy away from tough topics, I believe in addressing everything head-on,” he emphasized. Jones’s experiences under media scrutiny due to legal issues during his playing days have prepared him to delve into discussions that others may avoid.
Jones also acknowledged the significant role of his co-host and executive producer, Rosenblum, in the show’s development. “I started with Evan on I Am Athlete. He was instrumental in helping shape our vision and concept. He’s a friend and an invaluable asset; I’m the quarterback and he hands me the ball,” Jones stated.
He highlighted that their expertise in conducting interviews and sports discussions, along with their ability to secure real conversations with a variety of guests, sets their show apart. “We’re two guys who know our subjects and our audience. The range of personalities we attract—whether athletes, coaches, or even actors—helps us create a positive and engaging platform for discussion,” he explained.
Initially hesitant about entering the media world due to lucrative offers for interviews, Jones eventually realized he enjoyed the process of engaging with different perspectives. “I didn’t want to do it at first because I was benefiting financially from interviews. But then I thought, ‘Maybe I should start interviewing myself,’ and I found I truly enjoy it,” he admitted.
Jones enjoys his foray into media, though he strives to avoid the personal criticisms he sometimes faced during his football career. “I have no interest in critiquing personal lives; if it affects the game, that’s one thing, but otherwise, it’s not my concern. My focus is on facts, game performances, and relevant discussions,” he clarified. “That’s the best approach to take on my show.”
