Colin Cowherd loves hot takes more than he loves the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense against the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense. He openly dislikes watching the Eagles score off their famous tush push and has a plan for keeping it out of Super Bowl LIX: don’t let them into the red zone. Sound ridiculous for a team that scored 55 points against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game? Cowherd believes it’s a possibility.

Jason McIntyre questioned Cowherd’s dislike for the tush push on The Herd, pointing out, “This is for touchdowns, this is for two-point conversions; what’s wrong with it? It feels automatic. When the Eagles run it in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs won’t be able to stop it.” Cowherd then inserted his hot take: “They may not get into the red zone,” referring to the Eagles’ offense against Kansas City. Maybe this isn’t an insult. Perhaps Cowherd is suggesting that Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts could score a few big-play touchdowns, nullifying the need for red zone trips. “I don’t think people are giving Kansas City’s defense the credit,” he said. “Oh, I think it’s really good. And it’s really good in big games.”
Nope, this wasn’t an understated compliment; Cowherd suggests the Eagles’ offense might not be capable enough to reach the red zone against Kansas City. Get ready for more hot takes, as there are two weeks until Super Bowl LIX takes place in New Orleans. At this point, the Eagles likely don’t need any extra motivation, but their fans will certainly enjoy ribbing Cowherd if Philly manages to reach the red zone and ultimately prevents the Chiefs from three-peating.
