Jason Kelce does it all for ESPN. The former Philadelphia Eagles center is a panelist on Monday Night Countdown, hosts his own late-night show, and serves as the network’s certified tailgate correspondent. So when the chance arose for him to compete in a bench press contest against a young Eagles fan, he jumped at the opportunity.

The young man, Xander, impressively completed 12 reps on the bench before Kelce jokingly told him, “I’m going to kick your butt now.” Unbeknownst to the retired center, he seemed to have lost a step since his playing days. Kelce started strong, knocking out his first 10 reps in rapid succession, but as the competition progressed, the man who was crucial to the Eagles’ signature “tush push” play began to falter. In a surprising turn of events, Kelce managed to reach only 11 reps, falling just short of the impressive effort by Xander.
It would be a wonderful opportunity for Xander if college scouts were in attendance because anyone who can out-bench Kelce at his age deserves an immediate scholarship offer.
