Dallas Cowboys Appoint New Head Coach

The Dallas Cowboys have been actively seeking a new leader for the franchise after a frustrating 2024 season, which was marred by injuries to key players that impeded their progress. Throughout the season, despite the mounting calls from media and fans for a coaching change, team owner and President Jerry Jones continued to support head coach Mike McCarthy. However, the football world was taken aback when McCarthy and the organization mutually agreed to part ways after stalled contract negotiations.

Following McCarthy’s exit, there were rumors linking former Cowboys star Deion Sanders to the head coach position. While Sanders confirmed discussions with Jones regarding the role, he ultimately chose to remain dedicated to the Colorado Buffaloes football program. Now, it seems the Cowboys have found their next leader, as a prominent league insider reports that “the Cowboys are hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach,” according to Jerry Jones.

“Brian Schottenheimer is known as a career assistant,” Jones remarked, adding, “He ain’t Brian no more. He is now known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys,” as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

It’ll be intriguing to see how Schottenheimer performs in such a high-profile role for his first venture as a head coach.
