The Kansas City Chiefs are chasing their third consecutive Super Bowl championship and enjoyed an off week in the Wild Card Round after securing the number one overall seed in the AFC. In the Divisional Round, Patrick Mahomes and the team successfully defeated the Houston Texans, but they did so without one of their key offensive players. Unfortunately, they will have to continue without him, according to a reliable league insider.
“Chiefs coach Andy Reid tells reporters that WR Mecole Hardman, who was attempting to return off IR after a knee injury, will remain there and won’t play again this season,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Wednesday.

Fans expressed their disappointment regarding Hardman’s absence for the remainder of the playoffs on social media. One fan remarked, “From making the game-winning catch in the Super Bowl to not even being on the active roster at this point. The emergence of Nikko Remigio as KR/PR has kind of left Hardman as the odd man out. He was back practicing last week; it feels almost like a healthy scratch here.”
Another fan shared, “Love the kid, but he’s always injured. Hollywood is gonna light it up! Go Chiefs!” while a third added, “Tough for Mecole. Dude went through a lot over the past 2 seasons.”
It’ll be interesting to see if the Chiefs can continue their success without Hardman.
