Although Tom Brady no longer takes the field on Sundays, he remains actively involved in the NFL. Not only does he commentate for FOX’s top broadcast team, but he has also become part of the Las Vegas Raiders’ ownership group. During the early part of the Raiders’ offseason—Brady’s first with the organization—reports emerged indicating his significant influence over staffing decisions, both on the sidelines and in the front office.
Pro Football Talk reported that “Many believed (Ben) Johnson was the guy whom minority owner and majority juice-holder Tom Brady wanted the most.” Unfortunately, Johnson has since accepted the head coaching position with the Chicago Bears, leaving Brady to assess other candidates. Fans quickly took to social media to express their thoughts on this turn of events.
“Lane Kiffin? I’d go with Pete Carroll, maybe consider some college options,” suggested one fan on Twitter, while another mentioned, “Mike McCarthy. Or a trade for Kevin O’Connell.” Meanwhile, one frustrated fan commented, “Whatever it is, get him out of the booth,” referring to Brady’s struggles in his current commentary role this season.
It will be intriguing to see what direction Brady and the Raiders take next.
