Aaron Glenn has emerged as a prominent coaching candidate this offseason, especially following the Detroit Lions’ unexpected playoff loss. The team’s defensive coordinator is currently participating in interviews as he explores opportunities to become the head coach elsewhere. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New York Jets are set to conduct a second interview with Glenn this week. A former Jet himself, Glenn would be returning to familiar territory if hired.
#Lions DC Aaron Glenn, one of the top coaching candidates, is set for an in-person, second interview with the #Jets, per me and @MikeGarafolo.

Drafted by the Jets in 1994, Glenn spent the next nine seasons in New York, giving Jets fans a sense of familiarity with him. His impressive performance in recent years has solidified his position as a deserving candidate for a head coaching role. Earlier this offseason, Glenn made headlines when he declined to interview with the New England Patriots, expressing dissatisfaction over their handling of the coaching situation after dismissing Jerod Mayo after just one year.
Since the 2021 NFL season, Glenn has been working under Dan Campbell with the Lions. Notably, Detroit could potentially lose both coordinators this offseason, as offensive coordinator Ben Johnson remains a sought-after name in coaching circles.
